It’s not easy to keep track of all of the items in your home. However, in the event of total loss caused by flood, fire or theft you will need to know the details of your possessions in order to make a claim on your home insurance.
If you know the make and model of your goods, as well as other details, it will help you when it comes to replacing them should the worst happen.
You can now make the documentation process a lot easier by using our new Home Contents Inventory List.
Just download the excel document, save it on your computer and fill it in. Alternatively, you can print off a copy and fill it in by hand. Try to enter as much of the information as you can where applicable because the more information you have about your possessions, the easier it will be to replace them.
Once completed, keep a copy of the inventory either in a fireproof box in your home, and/or in a safe place somewhere outside of your home.
