Most energy companies have the facilities to supply both electricity and gas. As an incentive to get your business for both, energy suppliers offer a dual fuel discount. This can be in terms of a percentage or a set amount off your gas and electricity bills.
Some companies stipulate that you must be a customer for 12 months before they will give you this discount. Others will say that you can have it as soon as you get your energy from them.
You will still get individual bills for both gas and electricity and have separate account numbers for each. However, some companies will not allow you to talk on the phone to the same person about both and this may involve another phone call.

Take a look at your bills and see if you are on a dual fuel tariff. If it doesn’t say, this may just mean it is not in the tariff name.
If you currently get both your gas and electricity from the same company, ring them up and ask what discount you currently get for your dual fuel and note it down.
