"Good Cover, Despite Medical History" - Anon (08-Apr-2008)
Good rates, still not claimed myself but friends have and said the service was great.
Not the cheapest out there,
The fact you are dealing with a company that has a global rep to uphold is kind of reassuring. I know several people who have been quoted extortionate premiums for travel insurance elsewhere because of their medical history yet American Express has provided them with full cover for a fraction of the price.
7/10
"American Express Travel Insurance could be better" - Anon (08-Aug-2008)
The family American Express travel insurance policy I purchased was relatively cheap.
The excess is too high so when I tried to claim for losing a couple of teeth on holiday in Brazil I was told the £70 it cost me was less than the excess and so they would not help.
It was a minor setback so will leave my business with them for now.
Unique gap year travel option, with 14 day retun period to the UK and an option to exclude or include the US on the policy which significantly reduces the cost
A little bit more pricey, but worth it for the cover they give you
I would definitely recommend American Express Insurance's Gap product - if I hadn't of had that I would never have been able to fly back to the UK to re-take my exams without invalidating my insurance.
