"Confusing internet banking" - Anon (14-Apr-2008)
Great rates and helpful staff
The internet banking was very confusing when I was a customer a year back. It was hard to tell how much money was in each account and transfers were quite complicated... I dont know if this has been resolved since then or not. There was also some confusion around my overdraft. I was a responsible account user but they kept chopping and changing their minds when it came to how much my overdraft was. It got to the stage where I didn't know if I had one or not.
The day-to-day running of my account was satisfactory but these days with competition between banks the above cons made all the difference to my overall banking experience and resulted in me switching to another bank.

The Alliance and Leicester premier direct current account has good interest rates
The customer service is pretty bad and complaints take too long to sort out. They also didn't automatically pass on better rates to existing customers. Plus, there are never enough call centre staff even at off-peak times so you ened up waiting for ages!
