"MBNA Platinum Card" - chriswah (11-Dec-2007)
Very quick and easy sign up and quick at getting the card out too me, also very helpful on the phone when authorising the card. The online system is also very useful, allowing you to do all the things you should be able to do, including balance transfers and statements.Online account system lacks the design element you get with other credit card providers, I also had a small issue when authorising my card, I can’t dial free phone numbers from my mobile and my desk phone at work can’t do touchtone dialling, made it very difficult with the automated system, only small issues I know.

"MBNA Platunum Credit Card" - disco (27-Jun-2008)
Excellent call centre staff, very well trained, and helpful. I have recently dealt with call centres for British Gas, O2, Swift insurance and Lloyds TSB. The staff at MBNA are playing in a completely different league, and they answer the telephone, which is unheard of with the others.
Try to sell rubbish optional extras, like card protection, but at least they are not pushy if told clearly no.
For me, all credit cards are much the same, you just need to weigh up the benefits they offer to you; be they cashback, low interest rates or freebies. What makes MBNA stand out for me is the ease of the online account management and the call centres ability to solve problems if they arise.

"Pleased with my MBNA Platinum credit card" - Anon (10-Jul-2008)
I pay my MBNA Platinum credit card bill online and have always got on well with the card. If I have any problems paying online (which I very rarely do), help is quick and easy to get over the phone.
They could offer slightly better value for money.

Good website
Takes an age to get through to a fello human and then they still are not that helpful.
I really don't mind this card, only draw back being that customer service needs to improve.
"Variable Interest Rate - Beware" - Anon (04-Dec-2008)
None
The interest rate is variable and varies dependent on your credit score. I have had to re-mortgage a lot of BTL properties this year dragging my score down and consequently my interest rate has gone up to 35%. My credit file is clean and I have never missed a payment or been late with anything, but when you are down they clean up !
