"Great two years with Direct Line car insurance"

I have been with Direct Line for two years now and I must say it's been great.
I managed to get my excess back when I claimed because the accident wasn't my fault - I got it back through the legal cover. Direct Line even let me use my legal cover to claim for personal injury too.
The garages Direct Line recommend for repair work got my car up and running again very quickly. I got a hire car straightaway. Most of my friends have said that this is the thing they have the most problems with when they have to make a claim.
I would definitely recommend Direct Line to people.

"Online system needs work"

Great discounts to be had.
Rely on e-mail and their online system too much, you are better off ringing them. This may have changed though as I havent used them for a year. A phone call for renewel wouldnt of gone amiss.
I was with direct line insurance a year or so ago and found out that all the years I was on my parents insurance that I could use it for a no claims discount, i ended up with a massive discount which was excellent. When the policy ran out I went to use their online system to renew and was quoted a much bigger figure, which I half expected as I had a few minor incidents.
I decided to switch insurance providers as I found a cheaper one but then later on i received an automated e-mail from direct line quoting me a much lower figure. I didnt receive any phone calls and they relied totally on me receiving an e-mail.
