You are more likely to get a better deal on your pet cover if you compare pet insurance before you buy.
There are many factors to consider when comparing pet cover, including the amount you will get for vets’ fees, the percentage online discount you will receive and the maximum age of pet you can insure.
You may also wish to compare the cover offered by each insurer in terms of any extra discounts on offer for insuring multiple pets, and in terms of the support the insurer will give to you should the worst happen, for example, money to offer up for a reward if your pet goes missing or legal protection should your pet cause damage to a third party.
You will also need to check that the insurer provides cover for the type of pet you have during your pet insurance comparison – the majority of insurers will cover cats and dogs, but sometimes only specialist insurers will provide cover for horses, rabbits or exotic pets.
When you compare pet insurance, you need to consider your own personal needs and circumstances, considering the amount of cover, and additional extras, you will get for the price you are paying. You will need to make sure that you have the cover you need for the price that you want to pay.
