Intrepid holidaymakers who want to visit all of the 100 Wonders of the Modern World would need to fork out nearly £30,000, a travel insurance provider has calculated.

PJ Hayman reached the figure after taking into account the typical costs of travel, accommodation, visas, day-to-day living and obtaining entrance to sites.

The travel insurance provider believes that the entire trip would take 123 days and would cost £29,291.

This figure includes £18,431 on travel costs, £5,731 on day-to-day living expenses, £3,972 on accommodation and £590 on entrance fees.

Holidaymakers could also expect to spend £481 on visas, £46.59 per day on food and sundry items and £86 on travel insurance.

Peter Hayman, director of PJ Hayman, commented: "It is unlikely that any but a lucky few would be able to spare the time or the money to visit all these destinations in one go."

The director observed that some of the countries boasting famous attractions have expensive medical costs in the event of accident or illness.

"Therefore, we recommend that before anyone sets off to see these or any other exciting destinations, they get a comprehensive travel insurance policy," he advised.

According to the 'Famous Wonders' list used by PJ Hayman, the top 100 Wonders of the Modern World include the Great Wall of China, Angkor Wat, the Amazon rainforest and the canals of Venice.ADNFCR-2196-ID-19631414-ADNFCR ADNFCR-2196-ID-19464191-ADNFCR
