Tesco tempts with breakdown insurance deals

Tesco Personal Finance has announced that new customers will be able to benefit from a 20% discount on car breakdown cover if they buy their policy online.
Allan Burns, head of car insurance at Tesco, said that the firm aims to "offer great value and convenience for our car breakdown customers".
He added: "Everyday, our cover gives thousands of British drivers peace of mind on the roads."
The deal, which will be available until April 1st, comes as the company also revealed that its Clubcard customers will receive a £50 Tesco giftcard if they buy either home or car insurance from the firm - or £100 if they buy both.
This giftcard offering is available both on and offline, although customers who purchase Tesco's Value car or home insurance will not be able to take advantage of it.
Tesco claimed that it should take no more than six weeks after the cover comes into effect for the giftcard to arrive.
