Detective sergeant accused of stealing from her constable husband.
A detective sergeant from Staffordshire appeared in court last week after being charged with
credit card fraud, it emerged today (February 8th).
Carmen Hall allegedly stole £4,976 and £4,300 from the credit card of her constable husband Mark Jones in two separate transactions in May 2007.
The 40-year-old has now pleaded not guilty to two counts of fraud and one of perverting the course of justice.
"Sgt Carmen Hall appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court in October 2009 after she was summonsed for an alleged offence of fraud," read a statement from Staffordshire Police.
"The case was adjourned until February 2nd at the same court. She denies both charges and will appear at Birmingham Crown Court in March."
Ms Hall suggested at the hearing that she has not been suspended by Staffordshire Police, who have since confirmed that she is currently working in a non-operational role at Tamworth police station.
Meanwhile, it also emerged recently that Sgt Dalvan Dawkins, of Lancashire Constabulary, has been charged for his alleged role in a credit card fraud against the Royal Bank of Scotland.
