Most Londoners 'do not have life insurance'

A study by Post Office Life Insurance found that just 34% of people in London have a life insurance policy, compared with 62% in Scotland and 42% in Northern Ireland.
The survey also found that 8% of Londoners used to have life insurance but have let their cover lapse.
This means that, in the event of their untimely death, these consumers' families could be left facing financial hardship.
Post Office Life Insurance is urging people to seek out life insurance quotes as cover is "important to protect family, investments and cover funeral costs".
However, the insurer emphasised the importance of ensuring the chosen life insurance policy "meets your individual circumstances".
The benefits of life insurance were recently highlighted by the Association of British Insurers, which revealed that over 100 families were helped every day last year as a result of having life insurance or critical illness policies.
