Accidents can lead to unexpected vet bills.
A Labrador puppy is on the move again after a charity stepped in to treat its broken leg.
Veterinary charity PDSA, which assists families without pet insurance who are unable to afford their animals' vet bills, treated Kenzo at its PetAid Hospital in Gillingham, Kent.
The mischievous pup needed a four-hour operation performed by two vets, as well as nearly two months of aftercare, before he was fully recovered.
Tim Garran, who treated the unfortunate young animal, told the Yorkshire Evening Post that Kenzo's injury was the worst break he had seen in his five-year career.
"This procedure was the most challenging I have carried out to date and it took all of our skills to make sure that we did the best that we could for Kenzo," he revealed.
Owner Marik Kowalak told the news provider that the experience had been "hard and stressful" for his family.
He added: "We're so grateful to the PDSA for all their help and it is lovely to see Kenzo back on all paws."
PDSA provides assistance to owners who receive housing benefit or council tax benefit.
The charity advises owners to be responsible and take out pet insurance to protect against unexpected vet bills in the event of illnesses or accidents.
