Broadband users get online TV 'buffet'

New online TV service may interest broadband users.
Internet users can now get even more from their broadband packages thanks to the launch of a new online TV streaming service.
SeeSaw, which has been launched by parent company Arqiva, currently offers over 3,000 hours of content.
It differs from existing services such as BBC iPlayer and Channel 4's 4oD, as it has partnerships with a number of different channels.
This means that broadband users can access content from a range of channels via a single website.
John Keeling, controller of SeeSaw, described the service as "like having an enormous buffet".
"You can either just snack on it and catch up on what you've missed or gorge yourself with an entire season - it's absolutely at your fingertips and your control," he revealed.
Mr Keeling predicted that TV on demand will increase in popularity over the next 12 months, as people can now watch programmes on their TV monitors rather than their computer screens.
"One of the fastest-selling electronic goods is an HDMI cable which connects a laptop to the back of the TV and bingo, you're online and your TV has become an enormous monitor for your laptop," he explained.
According to Arqiva, the new online TV service "takes the company directly into the consumer arena with a platform that is complementary to the delivery of traditional linear TV channels".
