Booking holidays on credit cards 'is prudent'

Britons advised to book holidays on credit cards.
Britons considering a last-minute holiday this year should book it on a credit card if possible, it has been suggested.
The UK travel industry has been affected by a number of travel companies filing for administration in recent months, leaving some holidaymakers stranded abroad.
However, the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) noted that those who purchased their trips with a credit card are protected by Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.
This allows anyone buying products worth between £100 and £30,000 to get a refund if they are unhappy with the goods they receive, with their credit card provider being liable.
"[Purchasing things] with credit cards can be quite a prudent thing to do," commented a CCCS spokeswoman.
"They are incredibly handy and there are certain protections if you are purchasing a holiday."
Meanwhile, a recent study by independent travel agent Sunshine.co.uk revealed that 28% of Britons have borrowed money to pay for a holiday in the past 12 months.
