The financial consequences of an injury that needs treatment and after care or causes missed flights and alternative travel arrangements can be enormous. On top of those obvious requirements winter sports insurance can also in some cases cover for ‘no snow’ and potentially ruined holidays.

Ski equipment can be very expensive and damage or loss can be covered by your ski and snowboard insurance. So too can third party insurance to cover claims if you should injure someone else on the slopes. There has been a large increase in personal litigation on the slopes in recent years and it’s a factor worth considering.

Winter sports cover is usually an optional extra of standard annual multi-trip insurance that does increase the premium so make sure that you do have cover before you hit the slopes.
