For consumers it can be convenient to deal with one supplier for all services and it’s possible to get a better deal because you are placing all your business with one company.

From the ISP’s side, by selling a whole package to a customer they not only get that business but they also minimise the risk that they will lose the customer to one of the other services.

As with any bundled service it’s always worth checking that you can’t save money by taking the services separately although this is unlikely and it’s also a good idea to be realistic about your needs. With a bundled package you are paying for services that you might not want or need.

The other factor to remember about a bundled package is that your eggs are all in one basket so if you have any issues with the supplier it impacts on all your services.

Top Tips

  • If you are a high-end user of broadband and you want TV and phone as well it may well suit you to go for a bundled package from an ISP that offers it
  • As a user taking all the services you will be a valued customer so make sure that you get the best deal that you can
  • With the turn-off of analogue TV and the national move to digital you may soon need to think about digital TV if you haven’t already
  • There are less ISPs who can offer the full bundled package so you will have slightly less choice although numbers are growing
